Doctor Karen Collins, Veterinary Acupuncturist and Herbalist

Dr. Karen Collins is a Pennsylvania native, growing up in Hazleton, then moving to Bethlehem, where she graduated with high honors from Moravian College.  She received her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1985, thus fulfilling a life-long dream. Although she respects all aspects of medicine, her passion is holistic care. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and Herbalist, both earned at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in Florida, under the mentorship of Dr. Huisheng Xie, an internationally respected teacher, author, and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Collins continues to pursue educational and professional growth opportunities in both conventional and holistic veterinary medicine.  Her practice is devoted to treating dogs and cats using Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy, nutritional support, and other aspects of holistic care.

Dr. Collins treasures the relationships she builds with her animal patients and the people who care for them. Compassion and communication are vital to her practice of veterinary medicine.

One of my great joys as a Veterinarian is developing personal relationships with patients and their caregivers. My team and I provide a welcoming atmosphere to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience. You will be present during the exam and treatment, and engaged in discussion about nutrition, exercise, and other recommended treatments. Time and intention are key components to forming a partnership in caring for your pet and promoting his or her health and healing. Our goal is to provide a peaceful and comfortable experience for your visit. We want to partner with you in promoting your pet’s health and offer a healing sanctuary for pets and the people who love them. I look forward to discussing your pet’s needs and care plan.
